Meet Dr. Anthony Huang
Dr. Anthony completed his dental degree from Griffith University on the Gold Coast. He practiced in Sydney Australia for several years at a cosmetic-focused practice before he decided to move to Canada in 2020 to pursue his interest in holistic dentistry at Enlighten Dental. Dr Anthony has undergone extensive training in holistic dentistry in order to provide a total integrative care for his patients. He is a firm believer of multi-disciplinary care and works with a network of dental specialist, naturopath, myofunctional therapist, chiropractors, physiotherapist and nutritionist to provide his patients with optimum care.
As a member of IAOMT, he is SMART-certified and is able to remove mercury filling and failed root canal treated teeth safely. As a AMD (airway-centered mouth doctor), Dr Anthony is able to assist patients with diagnosing airway-related issues for both adult and children which may be hindering their systemic health. He places heavy emphasis on upstream preventative dentistry, which involves early interceptive, minimally-invasive care. His approach has helped hundreds of children in identifying the root cause of their cavities, dental crowding and treated them without creating dental anxiety. Dr Anthony utilities high technology such laser, ozone, PRF (platelet-rich fibrin), CEREC (single-visit crown) to facilitate his work to ensure the best quality care for his patients. Dr Anthony has extensive knowledge of the TMJ and will be able to assist you diagnosing and treating orofacial pain.
Having had extensive dental treatment done in the past on himself, Dr Anthony understands the stress of going to the dentist and hence he treats his patient with his calm energy and utmost patience. For those really afraid, Dr Anthony is also able to provide various types of conscious sedation to ensure his patients are comfortable and pain-free. Dr Anthony can efficiently communicate in English, Mandarin and Hokkien.
Outside of work, Dr Anthony loves to travel the world. He has been to over 50 countries and enjoys going to countries off the beaten path. He frequently travels to third world countries for dental volunteering projects and to spread awareness of oral health in relation to systemic health. On his days off, you may catch Dr Anthony hiking with his best buddy Chowmein the Chow Chow, or cold plunging in the wild. Snowboarding in the cold months is his absolute favourite.
